You will need a client, called a 'viewer' to log in. Suggested viewers:

• Firestorm OS - Set 'Maximum bandwidth' to 1000 or lower
• Cool VL Viewer - Set 'Max UDP bandwidth' to 1024 or lower

The bandwidth adjustments are related to UDP (avi movement, messaging, etc) and necessary on OpenSim because of architectural limitations. Don't worry, the heavy lifting traffic (mesh, textures etc) is TCP which is not throttled :)
