The client (aka 'viewer')

You will need a 'viewer' to log in. Suggestions:

• FirestormOS (PBR only, most used)
• Cool VL Viewer (also good for older computers)

I am also developing a customized Firestorm, with OpenSim in mind and some additional QoL features: binaries

Requirements

For PBR a discrete graphics card is recommended, with as much memory as possible (I'd say at least 6GB). If on a tight budget, Nvidia 1650/1660 or AMD RX590 cards can be had 2nd hand for around 75$.

If PBR is disabled (as can be done in Cool Viewer), you can do with an even older card such as Nvidia 750GT or even builtin graphics such as Intel 4000.

Note for Linux users with Nvidia: use the proprietary drivers on Xorg/X11 and avoid Wayland for fastest performance. AMD graphics works well in both Xorg and Wayland.

Setup

Click here to automatically add Tamai to the Firestorm OS gridlist. Alternatively (ie. Cool Viewer), add the grid manually in the grids or opensim tab of the preferences, by entering login.tamai.nl as the loginuri.
